Skating School of Switzerland — Special Figures SA
These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of services by Special Figures SA ("we", "us", "the School"), having its registered address at Route du Centre Sportif 1, 1874 Champéry, Switzerland.
These Terms apply to all services provided by the School, including private and semiprivate lessons, group lessons, choreography, music editing, competition coaching, training packages, day rates, patches, and any other services offered by the School, except where separate terms apply (such as the Terms and Conditions for Summer Camps, or the terms applicable to accommodation and hospitality services).
By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
"You", the "Client": the person engaging the School's services, who must be either the student if of legal age, or the student's parent or guardian.
"Student": the person receiving training or other services from the School.
The School offers the following services, subject to availability:
Lessons — private, semiprivate, and group lessons, both on-ice and off-ice, delivered by the School's coaching team.
Choreography — the creation of skating programs, including music selection and movement composition.
Music editing — the editing and arrangement of program music for use in training and competition.
Competition coaching — coaching and accompaniment at competitions and other events.
Training packages — packages combining multiple services for a fixed monthly fee, as described in the current price list.
Day rates — daily training rates for guest skaters, as described in the current price list.
Patches — ice time sessions at the Palladium de Champéry or at other rinks, subject to availability and to the Patch Terms and Conditions and ice rules in force at the relevant facilities.
Lesson planning and the allocation of coaches are determined by the School, taking into account the student's needs and the availability of the coaching team. The listing of individual coach rates in the price list does not entitle the Client to lessons with a specific coach. The School reserves the right to assign or reassign coaches for any service.
Prices for all services are as per the current price list, published on the School's website and available on request. The price list forms an integral part of these Terms. The price list is provided for information purposes and does not constitute an offer; all services are subject to availability and to confirmation by the School.
The School may adjust the price list with one month's notice, announced by publication of the updated price list on the School's website. Services already booked or paid for remain at the price applicable at the time of booking.
For training packages, the price and conditions applicable at the time of enrolment remain in effect for the duration of the minimum commitment period. Thereafter, the School may adjust the price and conditions with one month's notice for the end of a calendar month.
Training packages are invoiced monthly in advance. All other services are invoiced monthly in arrears, unless otherwise agreed (for example, payment in advance is required for day rates and may be required for other short-term engagements).
Payments are due within 30 days of the date of the invoice and must be made in Swiss francs by bank transfer to the account indicated on the invoice. All bank fees, including intermediary and receiving bank charges, are borne by the Client. Any shortfall in the amount received due to bank charges must be settled promptly upon notification by the School.
If payment is not received by the due date, the School may issue a reminder. The first reminder is free of charge; a fee of CHF 20 is charged for the second reminder and CHF 40 for each subsequent reminder. From the expiry of the payment deadline, the outstanding amount bears default interest at the statutory rate of 5% per annum (art. 104 CO).
If an invoice remains unpaid after a reminder, the School reserves the right to suspend all services — including lessons, patches, and access to training — until the outstanding balance is settled in full. Suspension of services does not relieve the Client of the obligation to pay for the commitment period of a training package.
Costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts, including debt collection proceedings, may be charged to the Client to the extent permitted by law.
Competition coaching is provided as part of the coaching relationship and is subject to the daily fees set out in the current price list.
Travel and accommodation for competition coaching are organised on a case-by-case basis. Travel and meals are reimbursed at the rates set out in the current price list; other expenses are reimbursed at cost.
Where multiple students are coached at the same competition, expenses are shared between them proportionally to the number of programs entered as at the registration deadline. Competition expenses are invoiced after the event.
Where agreed, the School may book and pay in advance for travel, accommodation, entries, or other competition-related costs on behalf of the Student or the Client (advances). Advances are re-invoiced at cost in Swiss francs; costs incurred in a foreign currency are converted at the exchange rate actually applied to the School. The School may require payment in advance before making any booking, and may invoice advances immediately upon booking rather than after the event.
All bookings are subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant providers (such as airlines, hotels, and event organisers). If a booking is cancelled, modified, or left unused for any reason, including the Student's withdrawal from a competition, the Client remains liable for all non-refundable amounts and cancellation charges incurred.
Where, at the Client's or Student's request, coaching fees, expenses, or advances are invoiced to a third party (such as a federation), the Client remains liable for payment until the invoice is settled in full.
Choreography and music editing are provided at the rates set out in the current price list.
The choreographic work — including the creative composition, movement design, and artistic arrangement — remains the intellectual property of the choreographer. The Student is granted a non-exclusive licence of unlimited duration to perform, train with, and compete using the choreographed program. This licence is not transferable to other skaters.
Edited music files remain the property of the School. The Student is granted a non-exclusive licence of unlimited duration to use the edited file for training and competition purposes.
Registrations for lessons and patches are binding.
Lessons must be cancelled within the cancellation notice period indicated in the current price list. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged at the rate indicated in the current price list.
Patches must be cancelled in accordance with the Patch Terms and Conditions.
The School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons or other services due to coach unavailability, facility closures, or other circumstances beyond its control. In such cases, the School will endeavour to offer an alternative arrangement.
Training packages are subject to a minimum duration as specified in the current price list.
After the minimum duration, the package continues on a month-to-month basis. Either party may terminate the package with one month's notice for the end of a calendar month.
The package is due for the full duration of the commitment period, regardless of whether the Student makes use of all included services. Absences, holidays, or reduced training do not entitle the Client to a reduction or refund, except where the package conditions expressly provide otherwise (for example, billing pauses during facility closures).
You confirm that the Student is in good health and physically fit to participate in figure skating training. You undertake to inform the School of any medical condition, injury, or other circumstance that may affect the Student's ability to train safely, and to keep this information up to date.
The School may suspend a Student's participation in training where, in its reasonable judgement, continued participation would present a risk to the Student's health or safety.
All students are strongly encouraged to hold adequate medical and accident insurance covering their participation in training and related activities. Foreign students are advised to verify that their insurance coverage is valid in Switzerland.
The School accepts no liability for any medical costs, repatriation costs, or other expenses arising from a Student's lack of adequate insurance coverage.
You acknowledge that figure skating and athletic training carry inherent risks of physical injury and illness. You accept these risks on behalf of the Student.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the School shall not be liable for any injury, illness, or damage arising from the Student's participation in training or other activities. This limitation of liability does not apply to damage caused by gross negligence or intentional acts of the School, its agents, or its employees.
The School accepts no liability for the loss of, or damage to, personal belongings, including items stored in lockers or changing rooms.
The School shall not be in breach of these Terms where performance is prevented or delayed by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural events, epidemics, official orders, energy shortages, or the unavailability of the facilities.
Where such circumstances prevent the provision of services for a prolonged period, package billing is paused for the duration of the interruption. No further compensation is owed.
Unless otherwise agreed, either party may end the coaching relationship at any time. Commitments already entered into remain unaffected, in particular the minimum duration and notice period applicable to training packages, services already booked, and advances already incurred.
The School reserves the right to terminate the coaching relationship immediately, without notice, if the Student's or Client's conduct is deemed disruptive, disrespectful, or detrimental to the School, its staff, or its students. In such cases, any amounts due for services already rendered remain payable, but no further charges will apply.
Outstanding invoices remain due and payable upon termination.
We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms, together with the current price list and any applicable specific terms (including the Patch Terms and Conditions, ice rules, and Summer Camp Terms and Conditions), constitute the entire agreement between You and the School regarding the provision of services.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
The School may amend these Terms with one month's notice, announced by email or through the My Skating School platform. Continued use of the School's services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
These Terms are issued in English and French. In case of divergence, the French version prevails.
These Terms shall be governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, without regard to the conflicts of laws principles thereof.
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the ordinary courts of the Canton of Valais, Switzerland.

Skating School of Switzerland — Special Figures SA, Champéry
These terms and conditions ("Patch Terms") govern the use of patch sessions organized by Special Figures SA under the Skating School of Switzerland brand (hereinafter "the School"). Patches are ice training sessions that the School rents from the rink and makes available to skaters.
These Patch Terms apply in addition to the School's General Terms and Conditions. In case of conflict, these Patch Terms prevail for patch sessions.
Members: Skaters enrolled at the Skating School of Switzerland and coached by the School's coaches.
Non-members: Skaters who are not students of the School but wish to use patch sessions, either independently or accompanied by their own coach.
Clubs: Skating clubs that book patch sessions for their groups, under specific conditions defined with the School.
Third-party coaches: Any coach not employed by the School who wishes to accompany their students during patch sessions.
Each patch session has its own characteristics (duration, required level, maximum number of participants, rate). This information is available on the My Skating School platform or upon request from the School.
Skaters must meet the level requirements of the chosen session to be authorized. The maximum number of skaters per session is defined according to its characteristics. If capacity is reached, a waiting list may be maintained.
Right of admission: The School reserves the right to refuse any registration or revoke access to patch sessions, without having to justify its decision.
For members: Registration according to the School's training program or upon request for additional sessions.
For non-members: Registration with the School with sufficient notice.
For third-party coaches: Mandatory registration with the School before the first session (see section 5).
Registration for a session implies acceptance of these Patch Terms and the ice rules.
Rink regulations: In addition to these terms, all participants must comply with the general regulations of the rink where the session takes place (such as the Palladium de Champéry). In case of conflict between the two sets of rules, the stricter rules apply.
Rates are published in the current price list on the School's website.
Members are invoiced for patches in accordance with the School's General Terms and Conditions. Non-members and clubs pay in advance; access to sessions is conditional on receipt of payment.
Members: Cancellation is free of charge within the cancellation notice period indicated in the current price list. Late cancellations are charged as indicated in the current price list.
Individual non-member skaters: Any booking made is considered final and non-refundable.
Clubs: In case of cancellation by a club, 50% of the total amount of booked sessions remains due.
Non-transferability: Bookings are nominal and non-transferable to another person or another session.
Cancellation by the School: In case of session cancellation by the School (technical problem, force majeure), a credit or full refund is granted.
Session modifications: The School reserves the right to cancel or modify sessions. Whenever possible, advance notice will be given to registered participants.
Any third-party coach wishing to teach during our patch sessions must:
Third-party coaches do not pay to access sessions but must register for each session. Registration implies acceptance of these Patch Terms and the ice rules.
Number of students: The maximum number of students per third-party coach is defined according to each session's characteristics.
Solicitation prohibition: Third-party coaches may not in any way solicit, recruit, or offer lessons to the School's members or other non-members present on the ice. This rule also applies off the ice, within the rink premises.
Any violation of this policy results in immediate and permanent exclusion of the coach and their students from all sessions organized by the School.
Figure skating involves inherent risks. All participants acknowledge and accept these risks.
Participants use the ice at their own risk. Special Figures SA, its employees, and representatives disclaim all liability in case of accident, injury, or property damage occurring during patch sessions.
Each participant agrees to:
Third-party coaches are fully responsible for the safety and behavior of their students.
The School is committed to promoting a healthy, respectful, and safe sports environment, in accordance with Swiss Olympic's Charter of Ethics and the Statutes on Ethics in Swiss Sport.
All participants (skaters, coaches, parents, spectators) commit to respecting these ethical principles, including:
Reporting: Any violation of ethical principles or inappropriate behavior may be reported to Swiss Sport Integrity (www.sportintegrity.ch) or directly to the School.
The School reserves the right to exclude any participant who does not comply with these Patch Terms or the ice rules. Exclusion may be temporary or permanent depending on the severity of the violation. No refund is granted in case of exclusion.
Violations that may result in immediate exclusion include, but are not limited to:
Modifications: The School may modify these Patch Terms. Modifications are published on the School's website and apply to bookings made after their publication.
Applicable law: These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Canton of Valais.
